LittleBigHelp was established as an NGO in Denmark in 2010 by Founder Lisbeth Johansen and approved according to paragraph 8A. After several years pursuing her career as a Sales Manager for an internationally recognised hotel chain, Lisbeth realised that her heart and interests were in some other place.
Her desire to help other people who were not afforded the same opportunities in education, health, and access to basic human rights as in the developed world brought her to Kolkata in the Eastern part of India. LittleBigHelp was established in India as LittleBigHelp India Trust in 2012. The organisation is building on the belief that a little help from others makes a tremendous difference for the children we work with.
Today, LittleBigHelp works with over 80 local team members in Kolkata who have invaluable knowledge about the local conditions. We are thus able to better understand the issues and challenges that street children face on a daily basis.
We employ one Indian Programme Director and several Indian Project Managers, each of whom has a team of coordinators and team members on the projects. Our Danish Programme Manager, Rebekka Madsen, is helping managing the projects and the team and ensures compliance with standards and objectives, secures the quality of our work, fundraises and ensures that the funds are channeled through to the right causes and projects. Our Danish Fundraising and Event Manager, Rikke Schrøder, is responsible for all corporate partnerships and fundraising through events, including the planning and execution of our grand annual LittleBigHelp Charity Gala.
